Slow news day?

Post by revolver323 »

This today from the Associated Press:

"NEW YORK - Paul McCartney sometimes gets a little help from a friend. "When I write, there are times _ not always _ when I hear John (Lennon) in my head," McCartney told the latest issue of Time magazine. "I'll think, OK, what would we have done here?, and I can hear him gripe or approve."

The former Beatles' newest work will be released Sept. 13 on his 20th solo album, "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard." Three days later, he starts a U.S. tour in Miami.

"Since the Beatles, I've approached making records every which way. A lot of times it's a really casual thing. Do a few tracks a day, have a bit of fun," McCartney said. "Normally I kind of say, 'I'd like to make a good album.' This time there was motivation, determination. 'I'm going to make a good album. I'm going to, and that's that.'"

The album took two years to record, with McCartney playing many of the instruments himself."

Macca has said this many times before. Time couldn't ask him any new questions?

I think what he seems to be saying is, "This time I really mean it! This time I made a good one, where others were just goofs." That explains Pipes of Peace and some of the others, I guess. Image

Reporters are basically lazy people, usually people like Paul are begging to have new questions asked of them. What question would any of us ask him if we had him for an interview, what one burning question? (Interested to know...)

When your current US tour hits New York, will you stop in at the Dakota and say Hi to Yoko?

What's your favourite chess piece?

When you see a cloud, what do you think of?

Did you and John really hate each other in the '70's when you were writing songs to dis each other?

(The first 2 were to soften him up.)

I am sure that if it were true that John would be just thrilled to be inside his head. Finally he would get to direct his "partner" to make some music that resembled their glorious past.

Sadly (based on a review of McCartneys' latest offerings) it cannot be true. It is obvious to me at least, that John has not been offering his guidance in any form.

Now that you mention it, Dave, he does resemble an old German lady down the street...
