Zinging

Post by idahosteve »

Recently, one of the strings has started zinging at the bridge. What's up with that? If I destress and retune the string? Or, put on a new string? The 330 is only two month's old and I've only ever seen this on some cheap ****** acoustics.

How common is this?

Please define"zinging"...perhaps the rest of us kow this phenomenom as something with a different name[though I think I know what you mean]

It's like that spring at the (G) string heel on the bridge is loose and makes a zinging noise. I dinked with it by moving the heel with the allen wrench thing (making the string longer) but it's still there.

I also loosened the string and re-tightened and tuned it - nothing, still zinging.
