OFFICIAL--Mid Atlantic Rick-Fest is ON-11/5/05

Post by leftybass »

Okay guys, we have a venue and a date..all we need now is your presence and your RICKENBACKERS to show and tell.

What is it-- The Mid-Atlantic Rick-Fest '05

When: 5 November 2005,(officially) 10am to 6pm. If anyone wants a head-start to load in from 9am, I'll be there by then...

I look at it as a rare opportunity to see some VERY rare Rickenbacker instruments, some of which are one-of-a-kind. This fest could potentially break the 100+ instrument display mark.

In attendance (besides us) will be (hopefully) Kenny Howes, who will be nearby and will try to come over.

Also, Chris Clayton (Pick Of The Ricks) will hopefully be there all day.

Where-- The Hampton Inn and Conference Center, 1204 Berryville Ave., Winchester, Virginia 22601

http://www.hamptoninn.com/hi/winchester-north.com

We have blocked ten rooms at the hotel for those who wish to take advantage of staying on-site. If you don't get a room at Hampton Inn, there are many other lodgings in the area...no worries. Try to book a room soon if you choose to go that way!

Coffee and water are complimentary all day. Just so anyone may ask the question, Alcohol cannot be brought into the display room(s) per hotel rules.

AN IMPORTANT NOTE: IF you are bringing instruments, PLEASE bring as many stands as you can muster. For the safety of the instruments (and to make a great display) we ask that you dig up as many stands as you can, your Rickenbackers deserve a proper grand display.

If you have any questions, post here and I'll try to answer them as best as I can.

See YOU and YOUR RICKENBACKERS on 5 November!!!!

Cool, I live about 45 minutes away from Winchester! I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be home that weekend.

Sounds good. I should be able to at least come for the morning since my anniversary is the day before and so my wife and I will go out to dinner the evening of the 5th.

Let's see, I can bring my '73 4001, Jetglo 4001C64S, 4004C, 4004Cii, 380L, 4003s5 and 4003s8.
If you think all is going well, you've obviously overlooked something.

That's about a 4-hr drive from South Jersey. One of those hotel beds will be looking mighty comfy to me!

Nice work, John! Thanks for the arrangements!

Anyone else bringing a 4003DG?

John,
Did you look into getting group rates for the rooms?

Don't worry Brain, we'll go out an celebrate my birthday. As gifts, I expect a Ric from all of you, Brain, I'll take the LK, Jeff, you can part with the 4005 after all these years, and Dave...I'll allow you to split one of those 4080's in half to show I'm not greedy...

Umm...back to reality...I'll bring my two projects(I hope to have the 4000 back from Dolan early Oct) , 4001cii BB and the 4001cs coupe I just scored. SWR Redhead and kidney pod to get sound from...

Whoops.. How about the 660MB?, that should work..

Re the room rates: YES I was quoted a group rate of $79 per night, it's in the contract. I will be in contact with the hotel this morning...ANYONE who has booked a room for $95 needs to call back and let them know we have a group rate of $79 and an adjustment needs to be made...Thanks for bringing this up Marc and Jeff.

John, Thanks for all the leg work.

I'm under 4 hours.

Mark, I also believe that no chain saws are allowed in the display room(s) as well. Image

Saw it before you arrive. Your newly acquired Azureglo should be fine.

As far as alcohol, I don't drink it. Scotch usually, occasional vodka, but the pure stuff, never.

I just spoke with the hotel...ones that have booked rooms already will be changed to the group rate of $79 bucks.

For those who are going to make reservations at the Hampton, mention the Mid-Atlantic Rick Fest (MAR) and the staff will know where to put your reservation.
