4001v63 Truss Rod Cover

Post by ataritoobin »

I've got a 4001v63 with a truss rod cover that has white paint around the edge. The edge is supposed to be transparent, along with the top of the TRC, is it not? If so, it looks like somebody decided to paint the edge at some point (for whatever reason!)

Not so, Steven! I have a v63 also as well as a c64. RIC keeps the protective coating on the front of the truss cover, silk screens the logo on the back and then sprays the white paint over the back with some getting on the sides as well. It seems that RIC is not concerned with making the paint on the sides look perfect. In some spots it looks like overspray and coverage gets thin.

All my lucite TRCs have the sides painted, even the '67 and '73 TRCs.

You made me look! my early-60's white TRC has some paint on the edges. The black plexi TRC on my white '73 also has painted edges.
