Hi John,
I have on order a Cheyenne II Blue boy that was orderd through Mike Parks on 12/22/04. Can you assure me that I will still receive this bass even though the BB color is now way over it's discontinued date? I have a deposit down and would love to know from you if this particular order will still be fulfilled? If this is a negative, then I'd rather be disappointed sooner than any later if possible.
Thanks,
Ed Dupont

Rickenbacker International Corporation is in a good position ... they have a nice segment of the market and they sell instruments faster than they can make them ...
So ... when they paint a 4004CII a solid color do they still put the fancy wood sandwich under that paint or do they just have walnut body wings like the 4004CI?

That's a good question Jeff.
My opinion, based on the probable relative scarcity of REALLY nice looking wood I would guess the solid 4004CIIs would be as the CI with the walnut wings.
But then again if the volumes of solid colored 4004CIIs ordered are low, maybe it makes sense to standardize and make them all the same. fancy wood and all
Being a production planner for a living, this discussion interests me

Rick mentioned he received his Rickenbacker after two years of his color of the year was discontinued.
We didnt "discontinue" the color, strictly speaking. We only accepted orders during a specific, limited timeframe and nothing was said about any specific period of production.
I believe the warranty is based upon the date of manufacture
That's correct. It's no different than any other color and the full warranty period applies.
