COY resale values vs. standard glos
Hello. I've lurked here for quite a while, but this is my first time posting.
I've noticed that the resale value of Ricks is very high, but I don't recall looking at many (if any) auctions for any of the "color of the year" basses. I was wondering if they bring in as much (or more) as their counterparts in the big 3 colors.
I'd imagine it would somewhat depend on the particular color as well. I'm sure some colors were more popular than others, although that would probably make the less popular colors more rare.
Has anybody noticed if there's a big difference in what the COYs bring in compared to the others?

They should fetch a premium as they are a custom colour, so to speak, and you pay more for it than a standard finish.
The Seagreen was never a big seller originally it seems. I have seen very few over the years, but they are now highly coveted with a $$$ price to match.
The Desert Gold is rare too, with few examples, but does not seem to have much of a following today still.
It is very subjective....

Thanks, Marc And Andrew.
I really had my eye on the Desert Gold back when they were new, but never got around to buying one. I really want a Blue Boy, but I'm not really in a good position to buy right now. I'm thinking I could better talk myself into it if it proved to be a pretty safe investment (not that I'd ever want to sell it).
