Macca's Too much rain (acoustic live)
Very nice.
Thanks Javier for providing "Too Much Rain" for us to hear. He sounds much more relaxed and natural on this song.
The opening monologue is an interesting insight also.

At first I thought that maybe it had been written within the last two weeks with the hurricane aftermath in mind... what with that title and its' lyrics encouraging perseverance in the face of adversity.

My last bass may very well be a Rickenbacker

I'm not an computer expert (to download a Real Player file) so I simply recorded the song from the headphones out in my RolandVS 880 and then I recorded it back to the computer with Cubase.
Cheers!

When I first listened to the album from 1st song to last, Too Much Rain jumped out as the best song. After a few more listens, it still takes the cake for me. The bass work is a real departure for McCartney, if that is possible. It is totally unlike anything he has ever played. Gorgeous bass composition and playing, in my opinion. His voice is pretty darned good, too, especially in the chorus. The vocal arrangement on the chorus is pure McCartney genius.
I am probably one of the few who really think this is a strong effort. At first listen, it was slow and monotonous. The next listen opened up more, and now I have been playing it pretty steady, and enjoying it throughout.
When I purchased the new CD, I also picked up the new Stones record, A Bigger Bang. Fantastic rockers on this one. Well worth a listen!
