I like the album a lot. I don't see how it's not melodic or anything, it just seems that he isn't overly concerned with writing "singles".

'ello Ed. I too am 53 (a geezer in forum terms). Your post mirrors my McCartney interest on everything except the new CD. I haven't heard it yet. The bits and pieces I've heard on the TV seem like they're slightly different than other McCartney recordings and may just take some time to "latch on" to them. I remember that syndrome with some of the Badfinger recordings in the '70's; after listening to them a few times they turned into really great songs. I've always been one to give things a chance before giving my final report.
