"Rubber Soul"/Beatles tribute band in Hawaii??
Anyone out the on the Forum know about/heard these guys? They are playing in my town[Kona] on Aug. 14 or 15.It's a free outdoor gig.Any info anyone has is welcome.......
Good Lord, that sounds like fun..!
Hey, Don; any chance my wife and I could crash at your place if we can get there..?? (We're really neat & clean...) It's unfortunately (for us) not likely though, as we live in South Florida, and it's a lo-o-ng way to go...
Maybe someday, though, as my wife has never been to the Islands. (I was there once many years ago; stayed at the Kona Hilton, in fact...)
I should really e-mail you personally to chat, as this is rather off-Rick-topic. OK: how bout this; "Hey Don, I'll bring my 325v59 along for you to see!"
Mahalo!

Well, I got to see "Rubber Soul" this evening.
First off, for an outdoor concert in the summer, it was a nice change from events like this back in Minnesota where I moved from last Jan. There, the mosquitos would have eaten you alive before you'd heard 3 tunes!! I digress.
They played about 2 hrs, with one break. They seem fairly tight, the drummer has Ringos' starts and stops down pretty good, singing was OK,but the Only guy with a Beatles guitar was the Lennon guy, who had a Lennon sig. 325."George" used an
American std. Tele, and the "Paul" guy had what looked to be an old EKO violin bass. NO VOX amps anywhere, just a silverface Twin w JBLs for "John",a red knob Twin for George, and the bass guy[I liked him the least, uninspired sound]
had some JBL pa cab w/ a hartke head.Over all it was kinda fun, but I'd call them a fairly well practiced garage band/party band at best.
