Sh*t, and I have tickets to see him at two different venues. Just my freekin luck, after waiting a lifetime I get to see a "dreadful Cliff Richard-style cabaret rocker".

You know, you'll probably still enjoy it. When I saw the song list posted on an earlier thread, I must admit I was impressed (For No One! I'll Get You!) and thought of shelling out for a scalper ticket. Wife said...what?

And I did see Mr. McC. back in 1993.

He who said it first, said it best: "Opinions are like rectums (PG version), everybody has one." I can't help but wonder how so many supposedly civilized folks can get their jollies from dumping on people, two of whom are now dead, who created the modern music industry. McCartney sold out. McCartney looks like cadaver, but he's trying to look young. McCartney is hypocritical. McCartney is egotistical. McCartney has lost his voice. McCartney's only in it for the money. McCartney's not as tall as his 1963 bio said he is. McCartney owns Kuwait and has a secret oil line running from there into his garage, which is full of gigbags and every Lexus model ever made, including one whose emissions turn lead into gold. McCartney once gave a fan three days to guess his real name after which, if she could not, he would take her newborn child. If you add up the numerical equivalents of "James Paul McCartney" in Aramaic, the sum will be 666. Linda's dead but she still had no talent and couldn't sing a lick and Paul just carried her because she was a yes-woman baby machine. Heather Mills McCartney is a stupid golddigger who is too skinny and has a peg leg. (She probably cut it off herself just to get Paul's sympathy.) Yoko never loved John and is a witch-***** who deceived and took poor naive John for all he was worth. Then she had him shot. John was a wife-beating drunk who would've killed a few people if McCartney hadn't met him and rescued him. George stole other people's songs. Ringo has a big nose, sings lousy and can't play drums. Brian Epstein was a homo who had an affair with John. George Martin is actually Christopher Lee. Did I leave anything out? Can we move on now, please?

Damn, Dave...you're not leavin' us any material here...so yeah, we can try to move on...not promisin' anything, though, especially in light of bad albums, bad concert tours and crazed publicity stunts...

And not to be a constant thorn in your, er, opinion, but Louis Armstrong created the modern music industry...

I am not a big McCartney fan but jeepers no one deserves such a scathing review. That reporter (Gavin Martin who are you?) must have taken a whole case of ugly pills and then looked in the mirror before he decided that Paul is what's wrong in HIS world.

You may be right Brian, but other reviews may not be as harsh, but are bad just the same.
My own thoughts of his new CD are not very flattering either IMHO. I just hate to be let down from one of my all time favorite musician.

Yeah Paul is old(er) now and not up to writing Beatle classics. Oh, and he's getting richer all the time. Dem's da facts. Let's pick on someone whose heyday was the '70's or '80's or 90's or 00's who is not as good or young as they were. This story's getting boring. There are now hundreds of new Macca posts here, most negative. Nabobs of negativism. Spiro was ahead of his time!!!

Funny you should say that...my mom still has the Spiro Agnew watch we gave her for her birthday once.

Nobody's as young as they were...not even Dick Clark.

But it's FUN to pick on Sir Paul, and then watch all the old folks get all upset about it!

Wait...I'm also an old folk.

All the grumpy people, where do they all come from?
Searchers amongst my teenage favourite music. Still fond of them, but earnestly a little puzzled they are considered THIS big! But I'm very excited about this forum, and will love to read it regularly, and also contribute!

Oh yes, Eleanor Rigby!

Waits at the window, Wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door, Who is it for?

Died and was buried along with her name, Nobody came

What a classic. Now that is a masterpiece. Is it not? Thanks Einar for reminding us.

ImageAlvin hasn't aged well, and I've heard nothing lately that can match "The Chipmunks Christmas Song."

Bob,

I have lived long enough on this earth to know by now that the negative critics always rush to get the viewpoint across.

As musicians we (should) know that time is always the best judge of music. First impressions of someones music in todays information age can be colored by people like Mr. Martin the reporter.

Judge for your self and have fun at Pauls concert. He was worth the price of admission when you bought the ticket. So I submit, nothing has changed yet.
