I really don't see the need to stress over this. If you are that interested in something don't post it here....we can email each other if we simply must blabber about something. Also save your bidding for the last minute.....not what I usually do but that's my issue.

Like someone mentioned above....just post with the knowledge that it is an open forum and keep your best interests in mind.

Keep posting Ken....keeping talking up how great the "Rock out like Motorhead" Ric is and maybe GC will finally sell it Image.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be angry...it isn't my place. I just think there are plenty of things more important to get worked up over than getting spied on in a public forum since there is nothing we can do about it and I don't think Peter should have to take on any additional burdens by making this wonderful site "more" secure.

Yes, but Robert, by bidding to artificially drive up a price, by e-mailing stores saying you are interested in buying something higher than it is selling for, you are just meddling.

Please cause trouble with your wallet, not ours.

Ken: I understand the support buyers provide for one another here. My question is, would a more secure posting environment make this problem, such as it is, go away?

We talk or write to each other everday sometime for years on end,we have confluences east ,west ,north ,mid, eventually south,we are by most accounts a tight nit group,we welcome new members with open arms,i think all new members feel very welcome,we can be blunt ,brutally honest and even hurt one anothers feelings at times, but for most accounts we do respect and generally care and support one another. All this is good,THE QUESTION:How do you keep outsiders who don't care or respect us out???Maybe by showing who logs on on what day at what time posted for all to see. They can watch us but if they log on we know who is watching and how often????

Good idea. When I log onto the Schwinn forums site, you can see how many members and who they are and how many guests are logged on.

The pros are that any gear you own will just become more valuable. ;P

Ken, glad to see that you've decided to continue contributing to the forum.
Maybe a private section is good or a setup like the other forum Dane goes to. But still, how will we monitor who is just spectating from who is spying? We have several known registered lurkers here who would rather be a spectator than a participant most of the time. Some of them are nice guys who are harmless to the situation that caused this thread.

Peter,e-mailed me with a pretty cool idea i want him to run it by you guys...

In short a private chat room to discuss well, private stuff, run by us, we decide who we let in,plus our regular forum here,so when we feel like talking about things among ourselves we just go to the room.

Wow, this is a powerful topic. Im not real sure what to say. I've always said, "We are our own worst enemy", usually in a joking sense, but apparently its more serious than that. When it comes to auctions,,,I love you guys (and girls), like brothers and sisters, but I dont tend to talk much about the auction Im interested in here on the forum. Maybe thats the best way to be.

By the way, I think Peter M. is trying to make a point.
