Some of you may recall how unreliable and unpredictable it was to win anything on ebay that was listed by the seller "instrumentexchange", which was a front for Guitar Center; now they use "gcrep" as their user name.

Buyers would take the time to see an auction through and win, only to find that the guitar/bass was sold in the store prior to the auction ending, with no notification. This was only part of the mess.

What is fair? As a seller, use Ebay exclusively while the auction goes on and pull the item from the store floor. If you're a retail outlet you need to focus on one format at a time, for selling something that's listed out of a store while an auction is in process sort of invalidates Ebay in the first place.

My .02: The store should have let Andy have the bass since someone agreed to the price, and oh well---they'll simply re-visit their policy about selling store items on ebay at a later date. I'm sure it's not the first time Victor Litz has had to absorb a 'loss', which I'm sure it wasn't--even at the price they told him.

I cracked up too, but the guy in the store would'nt be laughing, I've seen Ken's pic around here somewhere. I'm sure he'd change his mind in a hurry.

What sniper? The auction didn't see its end.

It does look to me like this seller is kinda slimy though.
