Speaking of pilots, two thumbs up the pilots that just emergency landed that plane at LAX without an incident.

I think it's funny that Rics always say Made in America, but when you look at all their factory photo's they have all foreigners working in the shop. Can anyone say Outsourcing!

Jeff,

Even if the workers were foreign citizens (and I'd bet the majority of them are as American as it gets -- brown skin does not a foreigner make: my wife is 1/4 Mexican, but that was three generations back. At most, my northern European roots go back just two, and my mom -- a naturalized American citizen -- was born in Ireland. Does that make me less American than my wife? Or is my wife a foreigner because of her Mexican roots? Personally, I think any such comparison is bogus), seeing as to how the factory is located in Santa Ana, California, and all the work is done at that factory, the word "outsourcing" simply cannot apply.

Outsourcing can occur in Alaska. Do you know what outsourcing is? I'm in Philly and my place outsources at least 100 jobs to foreigners. that means, they hire foreigners thru and agency,they come from their country and stay here on a temp basis. Companies do this for one reason, to save $$. Has nothing to do with brown skin, yellow or red. Has to do with paying as less as possible and stream lining so the company can stay competitive. Just go to the ric site and take the tour there. Just making an observation. i wonder if people would but these guitars if they said made in mexico. I doubt it.

Sorry, got my terms mixed up.

But... it's quite obvious that you're basing your opinion on the color of the skin of the people in the photos. Would you have really made that comment if 75% of the people in the photo were caucasian? And brown skin is no indicator of someone not being American, especially here in Southern California.

The vast majority of our employees are U.S. citizens, either because they were born here or were naturalized. Those that are not citizens are generally working to obtain citizenship and all of them are permanent workers here with properly filed employment documents.

The ethnic makeup of our workers directly reflects that of our community- our state actually- and in addition to the Latinos you have singled out also includes a significant contingent of Asians.

We do not outsource and the typical employee has been here more that 10 years and many more than 20.

To look at a photo and say that we "have all foreigners working in the shop" is not only completely incorrect, it sounds disturbingly like racial stereotyping. They may be immigrants, like almost all American's ancestors are, but they are certainly not foreigners.

The fact that the instruments are made in America doesn't guarantee quality Jeff. The fact that the company has an outstanding reputation for excellent quality and workmanship over the course of decades does.

Regardless of any workers "nationality"
