A few days ago i bought a tailpiece on ebay.the seller wrote me this.I told him not to worry about the tailpiece,to be careful and God bless!

Hello.
The order to evacuate came this morning, the city is closed down, people are fleeing for their lives, its crazy out there.
In a scene right out of 'Independance Day' (you know, the one where Jeff Goldblum is driving his father into Washington while everyone else is trying to get out) I tried to get the item sent to you, but the post office was shutting down (along with the rest of the city, which was already shuttered up) and the post master said I could mail it, but it wouldn't go anywhere because the trucks aren't moving so it would be best to hold on to it and mail it after the hurricane passes, at least I can keep track of it, because out of the meager things we are taking (mostly the clothes on our backs) your item will be coming with me, and will be mailed at first chance.
The only reason I am still here is because it is too dangerous to move my elderly parents in the crazyness on the highways right now, its unbeleivable. Will have to wait till more people clear out I guess, and hope we don't wait too long.
Anyway, I tried, sorry for the inconvenience, really I am, but it cannot be helped, hope you understand. But rest assured you WILL get your item!
I will probably lose everything, as I'm not able to take anything in my car, just some clothes, food and my moms wheelchair, and of course, your item, all boxed and ready to ship.
*sigh*
Take care Ken.
Sincerely,
Sir Grey a.k.a
Gary

What a great guy that seller is. I sure hope he and his family get through this storm without experiencing any serious problems.
He has a lot of integrity. That is a rare commodity these days.
Thanks for sharing that story with us Ken. Let us know when you hear from him again.

Fortunately this storm is weakening, but it's moving a little more to the east of where it was "expected". There is really no good place for this one, as New Orleans is already having flooding problems.
I know the feeling of the storm just missing. Last August we were prepared for a direct hit from Charley here in the Tampa Bay area...a few hours before we expected it it suddenly veered east, and slammed into Charlotte Harbor (about 80 miles south) instead. Charley also rapidly intensified to a Cat 4.
If that had hit in the mouth of Tampa Bay I would probably not be sitting here at my house. I am about 50 feet above sea level, but only about 2 1/2 miles from the Gulf.

Above e-mail is inactive. try ed_ardzinski@**** where **** is Hotmail.com or Yahoo.com. I tend to see things inthe hotmail box quicker...
