What kind of 4003 is this?

Post by anoukane »

This shop in Holland has got a 4003 for sale. But the neck looks a bit different from a normal 4003. Anyone know which model this is?
For a description of this bass check this link to their website..

Hey! Is that a 21 fretter listed below!

One of us should grab it...

By my calculations, that 1970 bass should be around $1559US.

From what I remember, the first of the "V" series (B series?) had an extra dot on the neck...looks like what they put on that 4003S?
The Smith book showed the early ones.

Andrew, is that rectagular inlay correct? I just looked at "the Yes Album" but it's too blurry to see the last position marker.

Looks "off"

I was taking your "One of us should grab it" lead Marc....

I didn't know if you were speaking from a third person's view!

Not too hasty I hope...

<jk> means just kidding...

I have enough right now and I also know that a bass with issues won't stay with me long.

I need better pics and a fill in on the history. But, put a vintage white guard on that and it could be cool.

That last position marker should not be there.
