McCartney Tour 2005 Deja Vu

Post by lowendbob »

Thoughts from anyone that have been to any of the 2005 shows?
Like I said in another thread, the Philly show Friday night was fantastic!
Saturday I stuck the "Back in the USA" dvd in and was amazed at how little anything had changed from the current tour except for the set lists, a few instruments, and clothing.
At the show Friday I thought it was cool that during one point Paul and fellow band mates came out waving Old Glory, and the commonwealth flags.
I watch the 2003 dvd and they did the same thing.

There where so many similarities that I thought I was watching the show from the previous night.
Still a great show!
I was just curious if anyone else feels the same way.
Buy it before someone else does.

I was floored by the Atlanta gig. Never seen the man before & honestly went with low expectations. I wasn't quite old enough to see all of my '60s & '70s heroes in their prime & have left some recent shows from said heroes just rolling my eyes (The Stones in particular).

But McCartney kicked major ***. He sounded great, song selection was fantastic & the band was very impressive! Money well spent - I can proudly say I've finally seen a Beatle live.

If he's been kicked by Macca, there'll be Major Litigation to follow up.
“I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did.”

One of the things that stuck in my mind about the Boston show was that Paul was constantly pulling up his jeans. Apparently he's either too cheap to buy a belt, or he doesn't want the buckle to scratch his guitars.
