Split tailpiece?

what exactly does that mean? got pics showing split and non-split?

The v63 has the split in the metal on the rib section,Above the mute.

Possibly, because the original foam mute was on a two piece baseplate Ilan. The two halves meet where the split is.

Just speculation....
