Why does someone's preference make them not a good performer? Why does that even enter into it?
Some people just can't get past that, I guess. Oh, and by the way, a lot of performers you like are, and you don't know it. Have fun with that.

Plant....great singer, but not a great "Frontman". If saying "good evening" gets you to great frontman status, then maybe he is in the conversation.

Prince is another of my favourites too. Absolutely brilliant as a songwriter, arranger and producer as well as a musician and performer. His last show I saw in town was the best I have ever seen him play (and there have been a few) and was probably one of the 5 best shows I have ever seen.

There has been no greater talent in the last generation.

What I meant to say was that for my taste Freddie was a little overly flamboyant, talent wise fantastic.

As far as Prince he is a genies but I also agree with Dane,x rated! a little over the top at times.

A friend of mine saw Prince and his band in a small bar in Chicago before they were known outside Minneapolis...Prince came out in full drag: lingerie, spike heels...every 'Master Chief Petty Officer's Dream'...

His 'people' made him tone it down by the time his talent could no longer escape mass attention. And now he some kinda Je-hova's Witness! Only in America...When the JW's come to my door, I axe them: "Let me get this straight, 144,000 people gonna go to Heaven, right?"..."Yes..."..."Okay den, aren't you afraid, if you talk to me, I might clean up my act so good I might bump you outta your seat?"

They never want to stick around past that point...

That's it, Ken...you tell 'em, "This is my doorway and I'll do the axin'"...

Never buy from anyone who has to come up your front sidewalk and inform you of a need you never knew you had...
