You know Ron your kinda right,but being they did not offer the 4001s in the US,I guess we could just call it a import model or special order.

Paul's base ain't no RM1999!

It's a 4001S-LH, naturally. Straight from factory!

Ken, yeah - You guys had the Deluxe everywhere, we had the S...

Always liked the S look better, only have one deluxe bass(4003), others are Ss. Even my guitar(340)isn't deluxe.

Mark is correct, as Paul's 4001S never was imported by RM.

If you go to Japan and buy a Jap. car thats not made in the states and bring it back to the states in my book its still an import.

What I'm saying is that Paul's bass is not an RM1999, it's a 4001S.
