Arlington Vintage Guitar Show

Post by randyz »

I was wondering how many Forum members plan to attend the Vintage Guitar Show in Arlington, Texas on October 15-16. It's generally considered a major show for collectors. I've got a schedule conflict that will only allow me to attend on October 16th. I've been attending these shows for many years.

I'll be there and I'll be staying at the Wyndham which is next door to the conference center.

I'll be there. It's now my neighborhood guitar show...

Lets all arrange to meet for breakfast/lunch/whatever.

Me too, either breakfast in the Wyndham (rather handy for Graham and me, hehehe) or during the evening somewhere (again the Wyndham is a good meeting place). Friday evening??? Saturday morning??? Any suggestions???

I will only be there on Sunday, and I'll have to drive several hours to get to the show from an MG car club meet in Tyler, Texas on Sunday morning. Don't let that stand in the way of a Friday or Saturday gathering. I would like the chance to meet everyone, especially our UK visitors. I've been kicking around the idea of organizing a Rick Confluence as a tie-in with next year's Arlington show, since I live in Dallas.

I may be up there for the show. I'm not really sure if I can rearrange my schedule, but I'm trying. If I do make it, there would a trio of leftys.

Yeah! We lefties could rule yet!!! Hang on, I just thought, we don't want any lefties to go to the show (less for me to buy). DOH!

Last year there were only 2 vintage lefty guitars in the whole place, and they were both 10X what I sold them for 15 years ago. There were a couple of nice Ricks, but they were beyond expensive.

I go more as a social event these days, rather than hoping to add to the collection.

Any time is fine for me. I set the whole weekend aside for the show and related events.

Peter, don't worry, I couldn't afford to buy any gear anyways.
