Short Scale vs Full Scale 325/350... Whats the scoop?

Post by ricrocks »

Not having the opportunity to play a short scale 325, I'm curious to know how it plays compared to a 350. Being a rythm player, the short scale probably makes no difference at all, but I admit to being turned off by that short neck.

Can someone please enlighten me regarding the pros and cons?

TIA

First of all, I'm a bass player and therefore unqualified to give a truly informed, definitive opinion. Having said that............... from the postings I've read during my relatively short time at this forum, I would venture that the 325 probably wouldn't be to your liking. At least from a practical standpoint. As you would in anything else requiring an informed decision, try both and go from there. My guess is that your choice would be the 350 model. YMMV.

Thanks Jefferey

Yes I just ran across an old post by Mark A. that tells me what I needed to know. You're right... the short scale is not for me.
