I'd love to have a 4080, I had a red with black trim 4003S-5, but I sold it to Jeff Rath. The string spacing was too tight for me.

I think I need one in every color scheme. The wife will never allow that! I'm quite surprised she let me go after the double in the first place, but it's a once in a lifetime chance. If I get it I'll play the hell out of it. Our guitar player has already suggested he & I swap spots for a song ( as long as I don't have to do a solo after his - he's way better than I'll ever be on guitar).

Scott, that's a great picture. I'd like to see it much bigger...maybe even post it on my website.

That's the 72'... she has clocked in a lot of hours since I got her. Plays like butter.

Well, I had a local guy, David King http://www.kingbass.com/index.html , install 2 new Bart's in it. We measured the output, and he estimamted to output on the low B to be around 10db lower. I wanted to install a pair of lane poor's but he only had a few left. The new routing is a standard size, and he told me that we can change them for quite a few different types if I feel the need. I also had him install a brass nut, and lower the action just a wee bit. This bass will do it all NOW :-) David did a VERY professional job. Worth a very penny ($300). Talk about "plays like butter". Needless to say, it sounds increadable, retaining all the character of the RIC sound that we all know and love. I have always belevied that the bass itself (the wood) has allot more to do with what a bass will sound like, and not just the pickups.
Peace, Greg(warrenty violator) :-)
P.S. Thanks John for building such a excellent bass.

Taken nearly 2 years ago with old Nancy, Steaming through Heart Of The Sunrise...not looking too enthusiastic, I must admit. Behind my second instrument... bongos!
