I got ripped off once on a hood for a '67 Cougar.....the auction pic was a clean rust free example and the one I received was dented/rusty. Paypal was no help at all, my credit card company was good but not too much they could do and it was more of a pain than I would like to deal with. One thing I learned from my bad experience was that if I have a bad feeling to walk away.....I got a bad vibe while I was dealing on the hood and went forward anyway. Same thing here.
Getting ripped from Ebay once is enough for me.
To be fair......I have no idea if the seller is legit or not (that's also the problem obviously). Odds are if I send him the money I'll get my CS. I'm not saying anything bad about the seller......I'm just unsure for several reasons and some things seem odd to me.

We exchanged emails fine up to the point where he was supposed to send me pics and I'm getting emails fine from Ebay. He's getting mine because he is vaguely responding to what I send.
I received another email from Ebay saying my contact info was requested and that revealed his info. Which is fine but there is still something strange going on. I may give him a call from my part-time job this evening and I'll try to keep an open mind but I am prepared for more of the "send the money" rhetoric and some lame pic excuse but we'll see.
I'll post an update whan I get home for anyone that is interested...

Well, let me be the first to admit that I was wrong....about several things.
Apparently he was emailing me but my mail filters were throwing his mail in the trash due to, I believe, his non-standard provider. The only mails I was getting from him were through Ebay and direct responses to mail that I sent him. So I was getting every 3rd or 4th email making his responses seem even more odd. Plus he spoke in "broken English" so that kind of explains the short description on Ebay and the strange way his emails came across.
He seemed legit and sincere when I talked to him on the phone but I dismissed that as "any good con man would sound sincere" but he sent me the pics that I requested once I reset my mail filters and they weren't great detailed pics but they were what I asked for so all is well.
I Paypal-ed him and he said he'd ship on Wednesday so I should have it early next week.
Again....I was wrong to jump to conclusions but it is my nature and I tend to see the worst in people due to my job (and personality
) and I guess I should have listened to some of the advice given to me on the Forum but I am also a tad stubborn.
......now watch me get a box of **** in a Fender case from UPS....then I'll say "I told you so".
