New home for a 360V64

This arrived (not unexpectedly) at the office today:

The pictures don't do it justice - daylight is so much better! Suffice it to say that the body is immaculate. There are a couple of minor issues - slight twist in the neck and a few binding tuning pegs - other than that it's cool and a stunner!!

I'll take it to the GP (guitar practitioner) on Thursday for a full non-cavity checkup and it will be as sweet as a nut!

Mitch's 1997 didn't turn up today (slight sob!)..... when it does I'll post shots of it (her?) as well as family portraits.

Don't you just love these things????

Nice one there Howard, Jetglo always has that cool look with the double binding. Full width inlays also are a nice touch.

Congratulations Howard!

It looks just like my 360V64. The bound neck gives it an instant 'broken in' feel. I think you'll find the V64 has the ability to sound smoky and dark. This guitar has a bit more grit and growl than any other Ric I've owned (no matter which pickups). There is an undeniable warmth present also. Seems strange to me... could just be my V64. But it's a completely different guitar from my 1997, 335, and 340s.

Everyone seems to love the tuxedo black-and-white class of the jetglo, double-bound Rics.

Jeez, how many Ric's does one man need? I've personally found three to be more than enough, although I have 9 axes overall. I did try a 360v64 at Classic Axe in VA, and was not too impressed. I had just been playing a 370 at the same store, and the 360v64 seemed thin in comparison. That JG is cool with the double-binding, but no cooler than a regular 360, IMO. Congrats anyway, keep posting pictures for us to look at !

Yes as discussed that is indeed the stable mate to my 12. So no need for me to go into any great detail about how much I like the colour.

Another great addition to your Ric family.

Steve: When you say 'thin', I assume you mean the sound. The toasters in this one have been wound back to 7.2k (they were originally up around 14k I'm told), so there should be plenty of depth there. "How many Ric's does one man need?" There are plenty of people on the forum who have a heck of a lot more than me!

BTW, you have been reported to the FBIUA - 'Federal Bureau for Inappropriate Use of Apostrophes'!!

The V64 looks great...well done mate. I'm looking forward to hearing what it sounds like. Pity I don't still have the 360V64-12 JG...would have made a nice photo opportunity for the pair! I'll try and give you a call today....my first day back at work so things might be busy.

Paul, maybe it'd be better (or more appropriate) if I called "12 Stringers Obvious"! LOL

Ah, call me a traditionalist if you must and I'll readily admit to it. To me, some styles *demand* certain colors. But I'll also admit that I like other colors/models combinations too. Heck, I even like some Rick 6 stringers too!
