Looks like your 1975 4001 is 'up for grabs', Gregg. I'm sorry to learn that you are parting with it. I've been there - in the past I've parted with a 1972 Fireglo 4001 (my very first Rickenbacker bass, bought in October 1979), a 1977 Burgundyglo 4001, two 1980 Jetglo 4001s, a 1981 Jetglo 4003 and a 1982 Fireglo 4001. The only good thing about letting them go was to know for a fact that each one was being bought by true Rickenbacker lovers, in other words, each one of these basses found a good home.
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.
