Removing adhesive residue from case

Removing adhesive residue from case
I have a mo(u)ulded Rick case which has quite an amount of adhesive tape residue on it - both 'sticky' and not. Can anybody advise a method and/or product to remove it without any potential damage to the case? We have a product here called 'Cit-Sol' which is a citrus-based liquid designed to remove adhesive from skin - would that be OK?
Thanks in anticipation............

Hey, Aitch. The stuff you mention is ok, but slow. Lighter fluid is better (don't smoke one of those Montes). There's also a product here in the States caled "Goof-Off", which I'm not sure has worldwide distribution. It'd probably be called "Ffo-Foog" downundah.

WD40 is a great idea, too. It needs to be wiped off thoroughly, as it leaves a residue which will turn sticky if left to itself and attract dust bunnies and similarly-named underbed fauna.
CANADIAN FRIENDS TIP: WD-40 also is an excellent starter fluid for your carbureted 1963 Parisienne if you've left it out all night in a parking lot in Guelph without the block heater plugged in, eh...

Tolex is vinyl...Shouldn't hurt as long as it isn't soaked.
Cases most commonly get contact cement on them, from gluing in the linings. WD-40 is really good to help to dissolve and pulls this stuff off.
