cool it looks like a '98 ... and it looks like it is in good shape ... these are very cool basses especially if you put in new saddles and increase the spacing to 2 1/4" ...

Serial # is 0039887. Manufactured the 39th week of 2000. I'm not a big fan of FG for some reason but this looks good to me.

The 1998 thru 2001 4003s5 basses are a lighter and not quite as dark sounding as the early 90's 4003s5 basses were ...

for fireglo I prefer binding and inlays ...

.....Temptation.....Temp-taaa-tion....I can't resist....! (Though my wallet has something to say about that!)

I don't have a 4003/s5.......I love FireGlo....the S bass is beautiful....

I DO have a FG 4001 from July '73, and the FG 366-12 from August '68, though....

It's very nice, I'm tempted, but I'm planning out buying a new Rick. I want to stick to buying new ones.

I don't care for FG either, generally. although i have seen some older ones that were much darker that caught my fancy.

I'm with you, Sean. The new ones look a little too "Pink-Glo" for me.

Yes, definitely not the right shade for anybody here. Just move along, nothing to see. In fact, you never even read this thread, you just imagined it.
