It's probably been brought up before, so indulge me, please. The Accent - does it cause a slight de-tuning with use? I use mine sparingly, just wobbles, not big dives, etc. Just wondering if that's causing me to be reaching for the ol' tuners periodically. Even so, I'd still keep it, and deal with it.

That is one beautiful 330......I once had a mapleglo 330 and even though it was nice, it didn't have near as nice wood as yours does. It is your guitar to do as you wish with it, but if it were mine I would leave it alone and play it as is.

I've got three gtrs with accents Jerry & use them sparingly, as you do. The accents are quite successful for me, but they do effect the tuning when used, to varying degrees. They are liveable with, but I am just looking for something a little better. I have been using a clients Gretsches with bigsbys & like the feel of them, so thought that a B5 would be worth a go. Peter has suggested that graphtec bridge saddles might also help & I am looking into that.

Welcome to the forum Brian. I'm afraid it has to be 'altered'. Can't live without three pickups & a VB!

BEAUTY! Congrats on the great 330.

Jerry, I use my Accent like there's no tomorrow. If my strings have been stretched sufficiently, there is no problem whatsoever. I use a bit of graphite powder in the nut slots and in the keywind.

Man, that is gorgeous. But -- I have 5 Gretschs, all with Bigbys, and I LOVE Bigsbys, I'd put one on my mother-in-law if I could. But I sure would NOT want to put holes in that beauty. (The guitar....not my mother-in-law. But I digress...)

Thanks everyone, I'm glad you like it. I have to say that I'm really excited about this one & it will almost certainly get the B5. I am lucky enough to have owned, or played regularly, most Rics, from McGuinn, CW, to 1997's, 360V64's etc, to the solid bodies & I have to say that the one Ric that thrills me more than any is the humble 330...odd I know, but it's the Ric for me.

Oh Rob...OK then.....

That's two non fireglos that have made it into my arsenal!!!

BTW, when I bought the 330MG from Mike, I also bought a very unusual AC30 from him, for the studio. It is one of the yellow 'Cranberries' amps, as featured on one of their album covers. It is actually a standard anniversary model. As some of you know, I am not a combo man, but I have to say that it sounds pretty darn good for clean sounds. I've used it already in the studio with great results. My Marshall is still king though...can't beat a 4x12!

I know that Mike Smith works really hard to get this sort of thing in & I can't thank him enough for his effort, patience & friendliness.

Tony what is the theory behind having two mikes on the AC30?

It's seems strange to see one in yellow.

That's the way it's done Brian. Mic one speaker with an SM58 to the cone & an SM57 (or Beta 57 in this case) above, pointing down, but back a little to prevent phasing problems. Then you mix the two at the desk. Try it, you will get a much more robust sound that will sit in the mix nicely. You'll never go back to a single mic!

BTW, micing two speakers doesn't give the same results!
