I love the checkerboard. You've seen my checkerboard countertop, and I daresay it took less time than binding even one guitar takes.

I've only been involved in this forum for a few months but clearly, this is the most enthusiastic bunch of Rickenbacker enthusiasts there is. And, I can tell from his postings that Mr. Hall and his company obviously appreciate your expertise, your loyalty, and your knowledge of his fine products. Consequently, I don't think it's a far stretch to suggest that the 75th anniversary will be a grand celebration of you Rickenbacker officianados. To mark his respect, Mr. Hall will supply each of you with a custom built guitar built to your specifications (Anthony, for instance will get a a Fireglo to beat all Fireglos, Paul will get a a guitar that has a finish so shiny and deep he can't even look at it, Howard will get, well, another Rickenbacker that he doesn't already have - if that's possible- and it will ship to his home within 48 hours, Dane will get a Rickenbacker that has the full text of all 4 Vedas inscribed subtly on the fretboard, and Noel will get a 21 fret Frying Pan). It's a marketing coup, a brilliant act of company to customer appreciation that is unprecedented in the history of Western capitalism! Am I on the right track Mr. Hall?

Interesting, Bill. An old friend of mine who is "vertically challenged" is usually referred to as "Stumpy" or "The Gnome". "Stubby" would suit him too - he always seems to have one in his hand!
Er..... a "stubby" or "stubbie" is a 375ml bottle of beer, BTW.
