hey Dane, you made the news.......

Snowstorm Drops 20 Inches in Colorado
Oct 10 3:04 PM US/Eastern Associated Press

A powerful storm that dropped up to 20 inches of snow in parts of Colorado knocked out power Monday to thousands of people, closed an 80-mile stretch of a major highway and trigged rock slides in the foothills.
Authorities said a 60-year-old Denver woman died after an 8-inch- diameter tree limb snapped off and struck her. No other details were available.
Authorities closed the main east-west route across Colorado, Interstate 70, from Denver east to Limon. Seventy miles of U.S. 24 from Limon southwest to Colorado Springs were also closed. A day earlier, the Red Cross opened a shelter for stranded travelers.

Yes Dane, it is ... for now!

And don't get me started on the "Global Warming" issue!

ok, I wont.

As to the weather in general, here in HI summer is finally coming to an end (thank goodness) and the slightly cooler and more rainy season is beginning... my fave-rave time of year.

Yeah, the sky's almost certainly going to stay 'up there' where it's always been...

Contrary hint: the ocean's not falling, either.

I say we we go back to the beginning and start biting our nails and getting ulcers over the original reason for the creation of EARTH DAY: global cooling.

hint: sun spots.... it's a cyclical thing.

Global warming does not necessarily just mean it will be freakin' hot; it also refers to unsettled weather patterns...so, very hot summers and very cold winters in some places, carbon deposits released into the atmosphere, my Dad wearing a speedo...

The BIG question is, what will all this crazy weather do to my beloved 381????

The history of our world and its weather patterns have indeed been cyclical...except for those little moments involving huge volcanic explosions or asteroid strikes. Then the cycles become altered or interrupted...this is not a matter of conjecture.

Now then....six (going on twelve) billion crazed semi-sentient great apes exhaling, farting, burning down the rain forests and revving their internal combustion engines at every traffic light may seem inconsequential to some...but do the math, damn it. There will be consequences, and they're liable to make Mick's Dad in a speedo seem 'pale by comparison'...

I know we're not going to change the way humans behave in the big scheme of things, but maybe it's time to quit sending out so many invitations to the party. Even elevators and ****** little firetrap nightclubs have 'capacity' signs on the walls...

The sky is falling! The sky is falling!

The human-caused theory as the reason for the ever-so-slight uptick in average global temp is the biggest load of junk science to come down the pike since that child molesting whack job Alfred Kinsey published his trash in the late 40's and early 50's. Deal with it. Unfortunately, in a few years or decades, when the temp pendulum starts swinging the other way, we'll all have to suffer through a spate of "global cooling" hissyfits from the chronically unhappy human-haters among us. Sad if you let it be.... comical if you see it for what it is.

But I agree that we must get our priorities straight .... The question is not how hot or cold it gets. The effect it will have on our Rickenbackers is the real concern.

The theory of evolution is not a fact either........... but it suits some to propagate it even though Darwin had real doubts about his theory in later life.

But let's stick to Rickenbackers. That way we wont offend any one.
