Here's a thread for some really obscure (but still interesting) Beatle trivia.

For instance, we all know about Jimmy Nichol's brief stint with the Fab Four in June of 1964, but did you know that Nichol ran into the Beatles just a few weeks later when he and his group "The Shubdubs" shared the bill the Fabs at the Hippodrome Theatre, Birghton, on July 12 1964?

There may be a number of accounts of this Dave. The episode I am thinking of is different and some may argue to be of greater significance.

Dave, the song that George could play was "Raunchy," which is from Bill Justis I believe. It's the cool instrumental that Paul, George, and Ringo were playing at the beginning of the very last disc of the Anthology DVD set.

I also initially thought as Pete Michaels did -- that it was Paul who played it for John. So that's probably right. I think McCartney does this on his "Unplugged" CD.

On Aug 18 1964, the Beatles shared the bill at the Opera House in Blackpool with a band called "The High Numbers" (a group that later changed their name to "The Who").

We all know that the British actor Victor Spinetti played the roles of
"TV Director" and "Scientist" in the first two Beatles films. But did you
know that Victor's younger brother Henry Spinetti is a very experienced
drummer who has played and recorded with Clapton and many others?

During the making of AHDN, Victor became a close friend to the Fabs (especially John) and remains close to Paul and Ringo to this day.

Haaa... yup, one of the better lines in the film.

The woolly sweater worn by Spinetti was his own. The sweater was given to him as a gift and later given to a fan club who had asked him for it. Spinetti had a habit of giving away a bunch of souveniers which would be very valuable today.

Ringo was praised for his solo scene at the riverside as a forlorn soul. However, his expression in that scene was actually the result of being severely hung over after a previous night of heavy drinking. He had been out with Victor Spinetti.

here's one I found on the web... and I dont believe it. About the filming of HELP! -

"In the beach scene towards the end of the film, John Lennon had an appointment and could not be present. Another actor stood in for him."

Anyone know about this? It sure looks like John to me..... like the scene where John has the dagger in his mouth and "ballroom dances" with one of the cops.... are they saying that THAT is not John Lennon?

I just finished watching that scene. I dunno. If that isn't John there must be a "separated at birth" thing going on.
