Hofner Strap on Gibson Jumbos?

Is that a Hofner Strap on John's J160E?

If so, I wonder why he chose THAT strap over a regular accoustic one?

Any thoughts?

Pete: I've wondered what kind of strap that is on his J160E. I have a J160 and I also have a Hofner V63 bass that came with a vintage style strap. I have thought of making a strap like John's. I'll be interested to see any comments that roll in on this topic.

It was because there was an extra one sitting around. Why make a "guitar strap run" when you're brainlocked into a creative frenzy?

Or maybe it was the smokes...
