The original SWR Goliath 4x10 cabinets were fit with Eden speakers, I believe around the mid to late 80's through the mid 90's. They then set out on their own. These cabs set the standard for all hi fidelity 4x10's to come. Been using Eden for 15 years, havn't heard anything better to my ears.

You mean this?

Great sound and it can keep up with a moderately loud drummer.

Props to you Jeff. I wouldn't have had the confidence to grab it without your support.

Did you have it built as a one off Jeff ? It looks like a really portable rig and if it sounds great, how good is that?. What is the driver in there? I'd love to know. I think Eminence do a 300W 10" bass speaker. I dont know about the sound quality of Eminence though. I always think of them like Peavey, workmanlike and reliable but not that great a sound. Can anyone enlighten me about the Eminence 300W ? The great thing about them is the availibility and the price.

Yes, this cabinet is a one off, now I wish it were a two off! The guy that built it for me is not doing speaker cabs anymore. I could make it myself but don't have the time, and the driver in it is no longer made. It is an EV 10BX driver, the same one that was used in EV's own B210 and B410 cabs that they made in the '80s and '90s. These cabinets were never really popular but they sound great. I once spoke to a customer support person at EV about this series of speakers being discontinued and she said it was lack of sales that caused it. I told her that I had never seen any advertising or product reviews for these cabinets, and suggested that was the reason for it's lack of popularity, she agreed that was a possibility!

Eminence does make excellent sounding speakers. I had a '69 Sunn Sorado cabinet that I put Eminence Deltas in that sounded superb, in fact it will be at MARC next month, Chris Pappas now has that Sunn. Currently I have two late '60s Traynor YS-15 cabinets with Eminence Deltalite 15s in them, and I am quite happy with their sound.

Jeff....I may have a few of those speakers laying around. I had a B410 for years until about 6 months ago. I gutted it before throwing it away. I'll check into it further if you like.

I found two of the B410 speakers in one of my storage closets and they look to be in great shape. I can see the other two but didn't feel like digging them out.....the condition should be similar.

I gutted the cabinet because when I tried to sell it nobody wanted it and it was worth more to me as parts than it would have been to sell. The cabinet really didn't sound that great with my amp setup (my current Mesa Diesels sound much better) so there was no use in keeping it around intact.

If you would put them to good use I am quite reasonable Image.

Thanks for that info Jeff. If....I thought about doing it would you be so kind as to pass on the dimensions and construction to me? I have an excellent speaker cab/case manufacturer only a mile from where I work and they would be able to replicate it for me. It would have to be the Eminence Gamma 10" driver though as that would be quite economical and easy to get hold of.

See Brian's post above about the 10BX drivers. I'd recommend you contact Brian and get the driver this cabinet was designed for. I'm sure other speakers would work fine but this is to EVs spec and sounds great. E-mail me your address and I can send you the basic plans I have drawn up.
