My first Rick was a white with black trim, chrome hardware.

Timeless.........................

I hope they bring them back.

yep a white Ric with black plastic and black binding and chrome hardware would be very cool as the 75th anniversary bass ...

I wish I new, Im really liking the Blueburst, and running out of time.

But, I'd rather have a white.

Jeff, while you have your ears on,,, have you ever tried high gains in your Larado???? If so,,, whats the sound difference??

I love my 4004 CII, but I wish it sounded more like a 4003/4001.

White would be cool, but no black trim etc...

We did leave the 80's sometime ago...

Yeah, thats the truth. I was 17 in 1977, couldnt wait until I was 18 so I could buy beer, seems like after that, I blinked my eyes and "boom", suddenly Im 45.

Scott ... yep I tried a high gain on the Laredo ... it screams ... be sure you use 250k ohm pots and not the 500k ohm pots that come stock in the 4004 ... I prefered the ric humbuckers in the 4004 and the single coil high gain in the 4003 ... the 4004 has a less massive body which give it a different resonance ... I found the high gains too bright in the 4004 and the hb-1s too dark in the 4003 ... but that's my opinion ... you might like it ... also the hb1 pickup effectively covers a wider string spacing than the 4003 high gain neck pickup so it suits my 4004 4-2-5 basses better ... you can drop in 2 4003 high gain neck pickups into a 4004 with very little work or a toaster ...

and a 4003 with black binding, black plastic, and chrome hardware is simply beautiful in any decade ... as long as you use a complimentary contrasting paint color ... like white, silver, burgundy, maplglo, cream, ruby or red ... fireglo and jetglo would not work ...

Thanks Jeff, I new at one time you were experimenting with Pup combinations on your jetglo Larado. I think I saw a toaster in the neck position, and humbucker in the bridge. I was just wondering how it all came out.

When you come to MARC Scott try out my 4004Cii with the toasters and see if that does it for you.Image
