It's a 4001S though, (set neck, skunk etc.)

Hmmm, for the same price?

Set necks are infinitely better sounding than bolt-ons, in my opinion. It's so gorgeous . . .

When did Ric do the set necks? And for how long and what models? I though they were always neck throughs.

It's not a 4003S!

It's a 4001S!

No 4003's were ever made with Set Neck/Skunk...

I told the seller this so many times, he said it was BS. Tut!

The seller has a nice looking Hofner V62 on ebay as well. It has the strip tuners changed out with vintage ones supposedly from 64. If I hadnt just bought a Hofner Club bass I would seriously be looking at it as he says it has the fat neck like I like.

Congrats Jeff, I wonder how much your 4003S and my 4001S differ in sound, if at all.
