Gerry, congrats on that 4001C64, the more you play it, you'll probably find that it is much more versatile than you originally thought.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

Thanks again, guys. The first bass I ever bought for myself was a 4001 (Fireglo but no horseshoe) and the next one I owned was a 40th birthday present from my wife (4001CS - horseshoe but no Fireglo), and I used to own a 950 6-string in Fireglo, so I've always had a Rick one way or another.

In NYC, some people freak when you bring a Rick bass to a gig; they're more comfortable when they see a Fender Jazz. Joey, I played the C64 right out of the box last week Thursday and found out how many useful sounds I could get. All I needed to do was raise the bridge a wee bit and I was good to go. So I'm quite comfortable with it now.

I also enjoy this forum a great deal.
Thanks especially to Jeffrey Scott & Andrew Winter for your help with my e-mail questions about your instruments!

Welcome to the Forum, Gerry. You got a CS as a birthday present from Mrs. B? Would you care to share the magic words you whispered to make that happen?

Please?

ActuAlly, Lindsay - no magic words were spoken; I had so many pictures of the CS around that my wife got tired of them and said, "If I buy this for you, would you PLEASE get rid of all these pictures!?" True story. When I told her I was getting the C64, she said, "Just be sure to keep the receipt so you can write it off come tax-time." She is a doll!
