I've played versions of 8 strings with the octave strings above and below the "main" strings. They both have advantages but I find for fingerstyle playing the octave strings situated below work out better for me. That way I can play pretty much how I normally do and strike the octave strings easily.....it's not really much of an adjustment from playing my 4 strings.
The 4008 setup makes more sense for pick style playing (IMO).
The more I look at that silver finish the more I like it.
