Mmmm, Cream.

Blues is nice, that's what I use my Rickenbacker for most of the time I'm not playing some Beatles.

I can do the first "Comfortably Numb" solo on my bass too.. hehe.

I know notes by themselves fairly well.. it's the chords that kill me.. I know about half of a G chord.. sad huh? I know "In the Flesh" but not the chords for it. I can do the seperate notes for it (E, F#, G, A, B, C) but the chords kill me. My uncle tried to teach me, but I lack the patience and attention span. My grandfather bought me an amazing guitar book.. it had the tabs of every chord.. but I gave it to a friend who got a guitar for Christmas. Stupid me! He loves the thing though, so I think it was worth it.

Happy Birthday Howard! I'll be 54 next March...and wishing I had your head of hair (as well as a couple of those Rics). I celebrated your b-day today by ordering myself an Epi Casino (sorry, Mr. Hall, but I DO have a 360/12C63 on order).

Thank you all for your birthday wishes. I've had a sensational day.... lunch (and a few beers and reds) with my brother and best mate, 'arvo' drinks with my stepfather and dinner with my children.... who could ask for more? Image

Mitch: I love the birthday present! I can't thank you enough for what you did for me. Your guitar (even though you sold it to me, it will always be "Mitch's 1997") holds pride of place in my collection beside my first Rick - the 330/6. Your mission (should you choose to accept it) is to select a nice place for dinner with you and yours when I'm over there - the Milky Bars will be on me!! Perhaps Melibee and hubby might be able to join us........ this post will self destruct in ten seconds.....

What can I say? This place is just fantastic... but more so, the people I've met through it (in an electronic sort of way).

Cheers to you, Peter - if it weren't for you and your passion, none of us would have met (in an electronic sort of way). I salute you!!

Reaching for the box of tissues now............

Hey Howard,

Happy Birthday mate! I've only just jumped on to the forum and seen your birthday mugshot. I'd telephone you to wish you all the best but I suspect you might be in a contented state of inebriation by now (10.30pm Sunday Aussie time). Enjoy what's left of the day...seeya next Sunday!

'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

Aitch, just to let you know....Hubby and I did raise a glass to you last night--while I was in the bathtub, nibbling on some dark chocolates....the guitars were safely locked in the music room, LOL!

Cheers to you, again! Image

Happy Birthday Howard! While, I think, your birthday is done for you now, it is Oct. 23 in Canada so, here, it's your birthday. That makes you a day younger today!

Happy Birthday, Aitch! Does time go backwards below the equator? That would mean you'll be 53 next year!

Ahh, if it were only true...

And Happy Belated B-Day to you, Paul, my Polish 'przyjaciel'!

Happy Birthday Aitch! Now you need to find a guitar the same age as you. I have a camera my age, I used to have two but sold my Linhof Technika III to a friend, so now I just have my Rolleiflex E to keep me company.
