Nasty moment....

Post by eatswodo »

So I'm busy coiling mike cables after church today, when suddenly there's a sickening crash from the stage. My 650D had done a face plant off its stand, aided on its way by one of our little 'helpers'....

I rush over and pick it up - not a scratch. So in addition to its already noted qualities, I can add 'tough as old boots' Image

Hmm... I'm sure a higher power intervened...

That's awful David, I'm glad it came out unscathed.

Here's a similar story.

I was walking past one of my Strats one day and my cell phone popped out of its clip holder and smacked my guitar. As it turned out it hit the guitar right on the strap button and bounced onto the carpet. There was not even so much as a mark on the guitar but my cell phone ended up with a couple of scratches.

Talk about divine intervention!

If it was going to happen, David, you couldn't have picked a better place! I'm very pleased that all is well......

Me too. I've grown very attached to this guitar, and in 4 years it has managed to remain unblemished. I'm sure it's not just me looking after it Image

I still have a hideous gouge in the headstock of my 74 fretless 4001 from when a sound man knocked it off the stand at a gig in the eighties...amazing that it didn't snap right off. I guess I know better than to claim divine intervention in a horrid rock-n-roll bar, though.

A few years ago a nosy drunk stepped on the stand holding my 4000 & it slammed down flat onto the stage. Luckily no harm done. It didn't even go out of tune!
