I like what (little) I've seen of the BBR finish, and I wonder if next year's COY won't be a similar treatment of a different color. Blueburst seems to be a real bright and glowing color, which is a good look on Ricks. I tend to particularly like the ones with a fully blue finish, like a trans finish on the basses.

That kind of finish would look good in almost any color. A nice bright red would look great or like a french ultramarine, or lemon yellow, violet, or pine green, or perhaps even... greenglo!

I'm still waiting to see a 620 BBR, though...

There are two colors that look awful on guitars:

Barbie Pink

Lemon Yellow.

Apologies to Daisy Rock on both counts.

Why does everyone think there will be a 2006 color of the year? Per se, there won't be.

Okay....we've tried guessing everything before: New models? New vintage reissues (4005? F-series?).....I can't even imagine--but in speculating with my hubby yesterday he says we'd better start saving our money now, because whatever JH dreams up for RIC's 75th, it has got to be good! Image

Hopefully nothing I want to buy, since I've been informed by the loving wife that I'm not allowed to spend any more for a couple of years, no matter how much I pleadImage
Maybe by the time I can buy another some will be available second hand (at a reasonable price?).

Paul, I'm no fan of turquoise guitars personally but some people seem to like 'em!

If Rickenbacker isn't doing a color of the year, per se, then it could be a special model (like a 4001c68), a special option (like a converter comb), or a variation on an existing color (like Fender's 'Time Machine' finish-aging process). Or maybe they're revamping the whole line...

...or maybe it's turquoise! BG was a color of the year shortly after it was discontinued. White could fit the description too.

JJ...you sayin' you don't like my P-Bass? Aw, that's okay, I'll live...

The color pink was around long before there was a 'Barbie'....but I'm sure you realize that...

How about a reverse Fireglo, with red in the center and amber woodgrain around the edges...hey, I'm thinking out of the box here. Call it Olgerif.

The word used was as a qualifier. There are jillions of different pinks and not all are nasty. But the Barbie tone is too toothachey for me.

I once had a faded Fiesta Red '66 Jazzmaster that was definitely pink. And I drive a Coral and Shadow Gray '55 Chevy Nomad for a number of years. So I'm not anti-pink, just anti-Barbie pink.

Ahhh......could "per se" be a clue? Black is the absence of color, but that's already available. White is all colors. If it's white, then I'd love to get the first one in a 12 string. Any model!!!!!
