I just bought a March 74 4001 and i put a 4003 bridge on it and i have set the bridge height at the lowest setting and the action is too high .The neck is dead perfect straight as well. What do i do about this ??

You can remove the grub screws and file away the underside of the floating bridge, now replace the grub screws. You can also file a deeper groove for the strings. All this has been done on my 72' and it works just fine now.

you can remove the bridge and use a belt sander or vibratating sander to remove a little of the metal from the bottom of the bridge ...

I had a '78 that had the opposite problem ... I had to raise the bridge so high that the strings were almost to the top of the mute structure ...
