Well, I wouldn't say 'never'...

My 74 4001 fretless is jetglo; originally had white pickguard and TRC...I had a 74 white fretted model, too, with black trim pieces...back in the day. I bought another one in '76 that was Tobacco Sunburst, so I wound up trading the white one for my mid-sixties P bass. Before I let it go, though, I swapped 'plastic' with the fretless...the result: how much more black could it be? None more...

I see a red door and I...you know.

I'll keep my eyes open, but I'll try not to stumble across it...that's why I carry one of those little 'gettin' onstage' flashlights...
