I'd like to order one in translucent red but that option isn't available.

650C's with walnut bodies are always sprayed solid colors. It wouldn't surprise me if we made a special 650C walnut body and a burst finish.

Never seen one myself.

All 650's from now on will have walnut ears.

Ken: I just love the look of your 650C. The contrasting neck and headstock is a sight to behold.

I'm not sure I've seen a 650 with a vintage style gold TRC, either! Aren't they usually black with gold writing?

That gold looks awesome on the red! I'll have to try Photoshopping gold onto my 4000 FG. If it looks that good I'll get one made by Pickguardian.

Ethan, that is the black TRC sprayed gold then the raised letters done in black. It looks better in person than it photographs IMO.

Ben, will any of them have a walnut neck?

I thought about having some sort of burst done to my old fretless bass which has a walnut body and needs a refin, but decided that it might be quite difficult to find a color that really looked like it was supposed to be there and which would compliment the natural color of the walnut. I suppose you could glaze the whole thing with a transparent color first and then darken towards the edges. Other people think I'm nuts for even thinking about it and they might be right. After living with it this way for 33 years, I'm probably just bored with it, but I do think a burst could be interesting if the color was just right...fade to black??? Naaaaaaaaaaaaaa....

And while you're about it, perhaps a bigger pickup also....
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

"They are 280000 Yen. want be see to go be be but neck grasp just a little * * *. "

Neck grasp what? :S
