Comstock sound clips--FINALLY!!

Post by melibreits »

Hi all, been doing some experimenting today, and finally figured out how to post MP3's....

So here are a couple of very rough demos of two of my songs, sung and played by yours truly on my trusty Comstock.... Please bear in mind, these were recorded on a cheap $12 Radio Shack omnidirectional desktop microphone, directly into a laptop....

http://ancientimports.com/~mbreitsprecher/Dreamers_Eyes.mp3

I wrote the first song just two weeks ago when my hubby was away and I was missing him....

The second one is the first song I ever wrote.

I think both showcase the Comstock's sound very nicely.....

Melissa,

do you belong to ASCAP? I only ask because it is advisable to register any song that you have written before it is placed in the public domain.

Nice work on the tunes BTW.

Beautiful voice Melissa. The $12 mike worked fine. I really liked If I Only Could Tell You. You can tell you missed him.

Now take your recording rig into the tu... ;)

$12 mike? Both the guitar and you sound wonderful. I've saved these to play at home and in my car.

Thanks so much for sharing these tunes with us!

The praise is well deserved. Don't forget to register your compositions if you have not already done so.

Beautiful, Melissa! The love for hubby comes through in "If I Only Could Tell You" and "Dreamer's Eyes" is just so wonderfully haunting.... lovely!!

Congratulations on the guitar playing and the gorgeous vocal expression on both tracks. The Comstock sounds excellent!! Image Image

It wasn't as bad as I anticipated, Melissa. The clients that I visited were all very nice and welcoming and I'm confident that we'll be able to deal with their issues in a mutually beneficial manner.

And I wan't as freaked out about driving around there as I expected. One of our employees had a serious accident up there a few months ago and suffered horrendous injuries - it really spooked me!!

One thing's clear: I will never forgive myself for NOT buying the Fireglo Comstock at Dave's Guitars. Image

Lovely songs, Melissa. I wanted to play along with 'If I Only... '.

Go ahead, Noel, play along! Image

Yes, I LOVE my Comstock--it is the first guitar I grab when I just want to PLAY something and not mess with dragging my amp out or plugging anything in.... I really want to get a Comstock 12-string someday, too--I'm bummed that RIC is not taking new acoustic orders this year, because a BBR one would be my first choice in color.

You know, I think there actually may be a way that a bunch of us musicians can get together online and play with and for each other--this online recording thing started a couple of days ago for me when my husband and I were chatting with a friend in the UK who told us about this online service called "Skype," which allows people to chat and teleconference over the Internet--I wanted to see if it would work for music, so I played a song for him, and that's when he told me about a couple of free downloads for recording/MP3 converting..... We have the Skype program on my hubby's main computer and laptop (the sound system is shot on mine, LOL!)....But I think with that we would be able to set up an online chat room, where we could hear each other instead of typing to each other.... All you need is a computer with speakers and a microphone. I'll try to post a link to the Skype site after my hubby gets up (late night last night, LOL!).....
