Women when introduced into and all male band are always gonna be trouble. Some can deal with it. But most can't and mess with the fragile relationships of the band by trying to tell their husbands to do this or that and stay firm this time.

Well, if you've got the world's most successful band, then suddenly a member's friend is coming to the recording sessions and making suggestions, you'd probably be p.o.'d whether that friend was a male or female!

I wonder if any of the other members ever said anything to John, about Yoko's presence.
In the Let it Be movie she was stuck to John like glue. How very obnoxious. I would have personally said something to him that most likely would have upset him about their behaviour. On the other hand, I don't know how long I would have put up with Paul's incessant drive for perfection. However, as someone stated before, I think they probably would have split long before if it wasn't for Paul's strong will.

Ringo mentions in the Anthology that he asked John "What's this all about?" referring to Yoko at the sessions. John's reply according to Ringo was "Well, when you go home to Maureen and she asks about your day you tell her. Yoko already knows."

I also have read exerpts from those sessions with Yoko giving her "2 cents worth" by saying such deeply appreciated things like, "You (plural) could have played that better." when a take didn't go so well.

Guests at a session are OK as long as they stay in the control room; I can see myself why having someone on the "big room" would be problematic just from a logistics standpoint.

One final thought; I know I personally would be EXTREMELY uncomfortable hanging out like that; I'd want some distance between myself and their creative process and would not have the ego to think I am entitled to be there to that depth and that detail, even if I was told it was not only OK but highly desired for me to be there.

In Tony Bramwell's book, he describes these moments first hand....saying Paul was particularly vocal to John about her presense in the studio....and everywhere else....

I read Bramwell's book last week. Very interesting. The guy was a Beatles insider for sure, though in his book Lennon doesn't come out smelling like a rose, even before Yoko. Seems like Mac was his guy.

Of course, the impact of women on rock bands has never been revealed more throughly than in the film Spinal Tap. But no band is comparable to the Beatles in that no other band has had two such capable front men, and two others who could also sing lead. But more than anything else, it was Apple that ****** everyone off. Had Apple never happened, or had it been in more capable hands, the band clearly would have gone on longer. The worst, most painful (not to mention expensive) problems they had were all Apple related, not wife or girlfriend related. Bad management at the business level, and creative energy being expended on other projects. The Stones were sleeping with each other's girlfriends, which certainly didn't help Brain Jones personally or professionally. But that band continued to exist, for too long, in fact.

If Yoko had had an ounce of respect for the situation she would've told John, 'I'll be watching from the control room so you guys can do your work." Even though John said he wanted her there, it was clearly a very stupid and/or sadistic move on his part. Frankly, the more time passes, the more i wonder just WHAT the hell he was thinking. Musically brilliant, yes, but definitely PUSSY WHIPPED.
Last night I was watching some LET IT BE outtakes, and for like 5 solid minutes he's letting his guitar feed back, and she's shrieking into a microphone like a love starved coyote. Perhaps they were trying to out-do each other in pure obnoxiousness! Now THAT'S art!!
I'd love to have her re-watch her 'performance' on national TV and see what comments she'd make about it today. Sinister bit*h!!

Obviously, Yoko had very little respect...she considered herself a great artist, and to her the Beatles were merely a pop group (one she claimed to not really be aware of much prior to meeting Lennon, although she DID specifically contact Macca before that to hit him up for some funding). I think it would be more accurate to say Lennon was Mommy Whipped... he found his new mother figure, and having her there was a symbolic act on his part to signify she was replacing the Beatles in this capacity. She knew Lennon's vulnerabilites inside and out, and fully exploited them to her advantage. There was no way she would have respected the Beatles' working situation, since the likely were a Threat in her eyes. It's no secret Yoko craves control...but it takes two to create and sustain a co-dependant situation.
