for that kind of money you can buy a brand new ric and change the binding and add black hardware and have a few bucks leftover ...

Yes Jeff but you won't have black dots. And that's what the Shadow is all about

Seriously, I have no idea why $3K is considered a reasonable price for a CS, with 1,000 CS's made - and it's basically a cream colored v63 - while a Shadow, of which only about 50 were made, should go for less.

Ilan ... install checkered binding and then black binding ... tada ... you have black dots ... and you don't have to buy an overpriced bass from a jerk like the emperor ... or buy Mike Skiffington's at a reasonable price ...

Mine was, well, let's say well over $2500. Yes, it is nearly perfect and it plays and sounds great, and I love it. The problem is, I set a bad precedent by paying that much. I had never seen one before and I had no idea what it was really worth.

Jeez, the Emp seems a little imbalanced. I have always suspected he was off his nut but that jew stuff is way out of bounds. Maybe 'thenazi' and hitler666 were already taken as Ebay user id's.

Just the little bit of info that Jeff posted is enough to make me hate him. I'd actually like to see what else he wrote, but I don't want to be in shock after that.

I appreciate Jeff's candor and I certainly respect his judgment on this. It was very unlikely that I would bid on any of the Emps items before, now I definately won't.
