My 'new' 83' FL

Post by bob_atherton »

Yesterday I received my 83’ FL from the States. It was in fairly good order, just needed the neck adjusting, action lowered, intonation sorting & new strings. All in all about one hours’ tweaking.

We had a rehearsal last night & I thought I would just use the FL. Other fretless basses that I have used have always been quite tricky compared to fretted ones. Anyway I was just flying with my new ‘toy’ last night. My playing was faster and much more expressive. I think in the short term the FL will be the only one that I will gig with. In the UK we would call it the dog’s ********; in the US I understand the cat’s *** is the expression.

I’m now looking for a spare FL, maybe a nice 73’ FG with check binding…. mmmmm

Shawn, we are a Bristol based band and don't really gig too far afield. Bolton is just too far off the map for us )-:
