V63 back from Dolans[boy I'm not happy]

Post by ken_swearingen »

What part of Montezuma brown ,sounds like it has black, what part of tobacco sunburst has black in it, what part of AUTUMNGLO sounds like its got black in it,those morons went from black to yellow,I'm livid,I must have sent him 25 photos of the color, they were all ignored, they refined it twice because it was too dark, they refused to send me pictures to see if they got the color right -when I asked, they had it for 3 months, never again........

Sorry to hear that Ken. This is the first time I've ever known about a customer being dissatisfied with Dolan's work.
The JETGLO finish name should be officially changed to JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

Ken, when you sent him pictures, were they film pics, or were they digital? I agree that the edges are a lot darker than what I would expect.

Sorry they let you down... I had thought about getting some kind of burst done on my 4000, but I've never seen a Ric refined anywhere that came out looking like factory.

Love the SVT in the shot though....

It looks like one of those pins they sell on ebay---the body looks sort of like a caricature.

Frankly, Ken, the pictures on my monitor look pretty close. Monte brown looks like rich dark ice tea to me. If they were going from the shot of the Monte, it looks like they came pretty close. But I'm not seeing it in person. Bring it to the MARC.

I remember John Hall stating that getting Monte to look the way they wanted it to was a tough learning process. They liked the end color, but the finishers didn't like applying it. Maybe this is why.

I agree Paul - based on those two shots I'd say they did a good job. I'd have to see it in person.
