The Squire bass in my opinion won out over all. The sound, the feel, it has a clarity in the tone that's just a winner.

The 4004 definately has a unique tone, it is my second favorite. I really like the feel of the fingerboard. With it's sound and feel, I'm surprised it's not used by more of today's artists.

The 4005 really can't be compared straight up. It's just too different of a bass. I'd like to try it with some different strings.

My two projects, while I love them both, for what ever reason, just don't compare to the original article, in this case the CS.

Just from a looks prospective however, I think I'm going to change the truss and pickguard on my sea green project to white rather than black.

Yeah, Chris is just a fool for that 4005...

Remember, I wasn't really doing this just for looks..I was going for the overall looks, playability and sound...for me, the 4001cs was an easy winner.

I love the sound of my '5s, but when played side by side with a hi-gain equipped bass, the double toasters pail in comparison....IMHO, of course.

I know your 4004Cii is BB (at least I recall it being BB) but that photo looks like it is white, which looks REALLY good! Maybe you should get it refinned.

Marc, is your CS a '91? Or was that someone else's? Mine's a '91 and it's pretty killer.

I saw the photo the same way Jeff..White would be a cool color. No plans to refin this however.

Shaun, yeah the CS must be a 91. It's number 30.
