Well yes, i'm afraid she's not much experienced, still learning...
(BTW, if i got it right, you play flute as well? how many instruments can you play, apart from guitars? any other tracks you could send along?)
Cheers

I'm not much of a flautist. I can dabble. I used to be quite good when I was very young. I have a very nice, well cared for silver Selmer Bundy flute that sounds pretty good in experienced hands.

As far as other instruments that I play. They would be in descending order of proficiency:

Guitar
Bass
Keyboards
Harmonica
Drums and other percussion instruments.

I have also a small amount of experience playing a sitar.

I do have other more recent material but I don't really want to turn this thread into a self indulgent showcase.

If you are interested I'll send you something off-line.

Hi Sheena I'll send you something off-line.

I really only wanted to share this material because it is both Beatle and Rickenbacker related. I don't have a lot of recordings that have those elements.

Besides, I think this thread has probably run it's course.

Very nice, Brian....thank you for sharing that!!

It's got the "sound" we all know and love.

Actually , it sort of has a Vinyl Kings feel to it...and I like the Vinyl Kings!

I know what you mean and I wrote it. I used to choke up playing it. Silly isn't it?

The links on this thread will expire fairly soon, so if anyone else is interested in listening to these tunes I suggest that you do so, as soon as you are able.

If not, I would like to say a big hearty thank you to all who took the time to listen and post their comments.

I am glad it struck a chord with you Aitch. I am also glad that we never did release it on a commercial basis.

There was some discussion however, about releasing it and putting all profits (if any) towards the home for children that was more recently run by Salvation Army. Strawberry Field. A few other charitable causes were also discussed.

The studio just wanted to release it commercially. We never did see eye to eye on that one

"Dear John" is a great song, Brian. You captured the feel of the time extremely well.

I can understand why you would not wish it out for commercial release, even though it is great quality. It's just not philosophically "comercial". Good for you, sticking to your guns.

Great work.
